One of my favorite things about being an Engagement Photographer in Colorado Springs, is hearing how couples meet and then end up in Colorado. Like most of us in Colorado, few people are actually locals. Meisha & Travis both grew up in Georgia and that’s where they met. Eventually Travis took a job opportunity in Colorado and they’ve been doing life together here in Colorado Springs. Keep reading to learn how they met and about Travis’ super thoughtful proposal!

How They Met

Meisha and Travis first started talking on Tinder. Meisha even blew him off for a few months. Once she gave him a chance and said yes to a date, they became inseparable. After their first date began, they were soon making plans for another date the next day.  

What to Wear to Your Engagement Photos

I absolutely loved Meisha’s burnt orange velvet dress! Paired with Travis’ neutral pants and navy top made Meisha truly stand out! Though we did their engagement photos at the end of April, it almost looks like a fall engagement session. I’m always a fan of neutral colors for engagement photos outfits, so their black outfits the second half of their session where perfect for blue hour. 

The Proposal

Meisha flew back to Georgia for Thanksgiving in 2020, but Travis stayed in Colorado. When Meisha flew back, Travis picked her up from the Denver airport and he was dressed nice. Meisha says that when Travis isn’t in his work clothes, then he’s in athletic clothes. She mentioned it to him, but he played it off. When they get home Travis says he has a surprise for her. He goes inside while Meisha waits in the car. While she was waiting, Meisha was wondering if Travis got a new car. So a proposal was not on her mind. Travis eventually texts her to come inside. When she walks through the door she sees candles, flower petals, and pictures of them both. She follows a trail of flower petals that lead to Travis holding a sign that says “Will you marry me?”. He got down on one knee and the rest is history. 

Ahh their proposal story seriously makes me get teary eyed! Since their proposal was private, Meisha wanted to reenact some proposal photos just to have.
