With mountains and sweeping plains always a short drive away, we’re over the moon to call Colorful Colorado our home. When I’m not out in the desert or up at a ski lodge photographing a wedding, you can find me giving my kitty all the ear rubs, whipping up my latest healthy dinner recipe, or sweating it out CrossFit style to stay in tip top shape for all the mountain trails I love.
The mountains and desert always make me feel right at home. You know the smell of the sun baked earth right when the first raindrops start to fall or the high altitude night air? I can’t get enough and one single whiff whisks me away into my happy place. Although New Mexico was my first home, the Colorado bug bit my husband and I pretty hard. We’re obsessed and can’t imagine living anywhere else!
You’re looking at my legacy, here. My great grandparents showing off that fresh 40’s style, young and in love! Family photos are something I grew up cherishing. From watching my mom glow with pride when she raved about her favorite photo from her own wedding to flipping through dusty old albums of my grandparents and great grandparents, photos remind us of where we come from and the stories that pair with that.
Recording the story of your day, the start of your legacy together and the community that celebrated and raised you? I carry the weight of telling your story in photos and I carry it with a full heart, knowing what that means.
Inspired by the mountains for my own wedding, we picked a venue just outside of Colorado Springs with a rustic, open air feel that made it easy for friends + family to travel in from out of state. Perfect, right?
With a general boho vibe, we had pampas grass + pops of burgundy + gold throughout our decor. Saying our vows under a chic triangle archway draped in florals was the most romantic feeling ever! Highly recommend it. Afterwards, we danced the night away with our loved ones in a big cabin. When we look back through our photos, it’s the photos of family and friends that really bring happy tears to my eyes.
