This November Golden Lady Bug Estate Wedding in San Marcos, California was a total California Dream. Golden Lady Bug is a stunning estate and gorgeous wedding venue with palm trees, a pool, and incredible views of the hills. M & J were able to stay at Golden Lady Bug the day before and after the wedding which was awesome.

Update for 2023: According to Golden Lady Bug’s Instagram profile they are NO longer booking weddings. Also, Airbnb does not allow events to be held at their properties anymore unless the host is a “professional hospitality business.” It doesn’t hurt to message the host to ask, especially if other wedding are mentioned in their reviews. Always ask! Some VRBO hosts DO allow weddings at their properties. VRBO might be a better route to go with for planning your wedding at a rental home!
If you’re traveling or attending a wedding in the area, I still highly recommend this place! It’s a gorgeous home with lots of space!
With the help of their family and friends, Megan & Jake took care of all the decorations and did all of the planning. Their wedding day had two of the best foods in the entire world: Donuts & Tacos (amazing as expected!). There was lots of laughter throughout their ceremony, and among the wedding party throughout the entire day! Some donut smashing and Smirnoff Icing also happened!
Megan was one of my sorority sisters from college. After college, Megan moved to California to pursue a law degree (and has since graduated). She met Jake when she started school in California (Jake’s in med school!). One thing so many people said about Megan & Jake is how well they compliment each other and how much fun and laughter they have together. Megan has a great sense of humor, loves to laugh, and is so much fun to be around. Jake brings more of that out in her. That’s something you always hope to see in any relationships your friends are in.
Several Zeta sisters traveled to be at Megan’s wedding. It was special for all of us to see one another. It’s always fun seeing the friends and family of a couple come together to celebrate and love on them. I’m so grateful Megan chose me to photograph their California wedding day because it was such a dream!
