This backyard New Mexico wedding on a warm August summer day was complete with a geometric triangular arch for the ceremony and a relaxed outdoor reception.

Tori & Kevin have been together since 2016 and have two beautiful kids together. They their vows in the backyard of their home. I loved my time with Tori & Kevin for their husband and wife portraits. They  smiled and laughed with each other the entire time which made my job super easy!

In her wedding questionnaire Tori described their relationship and I couldn’t describe it better. “We have grown our relationship and relied on each other through raising two babies, buying a home, losing a parent, and so much more. Our relationship is very relaxed. Some of our favorite things to do is play with our babies in the backyard, work on our house, or BBQ with family. Our relationship works because we know that every day isn’t going to be easy. We would rather take a hard day than a day without the other person. Kevin is my very best friend.”

Once again Tori shared this on one of her wedding social media posts and I had to share it here: “My favorite part of our wedding day was standing at the alter and sharing our vows. We made a promise to each other, under God. There is something about that public commitment, this is not just a piece of paper.”

It’s always  meaningful to me when I get to photograph the wedding of people  I know. I traveled back home to Clovis, NM for Tori & Kevin’s wedding in August. Tori and I met sometime during our high school years at one of many 4-H and FFA events we attended growing up. We both judged dairy cattle, so I’d see her at those 4-H & FFA competitions. I had known Kevin through some of my friends during high school too.
