As a Boulder Engagement Photographer, this in-home session filled with baking cookies, cozy sweaters, and sweet puppies was one of my favorites of 2019. J & L recently moved into their new home outside of Boulder and wanted to do part of their engagement photos in their new space. I’m so glad we did!
Their session went super smooth and was really fun. Here are my top tips for rocking your in-home engagement photos:
- Choose spaces in your home with lots of natural light. That might mean openings some blinds or doors if needed. Jackie & Levi’s kitchen and living room had amazing natural light.
- If you have time, choose an activity to do as a couple. J & L made chocolate chip cookie dough together. When J & L arrived home that night after their outdoor session, they put cookies in the oven to enjoy. If baking cookies isn’t your thing to do together, you could also make drinks or prep an easy meal together!
- Choose outfits that fit the mood and scene. J and L wore casual, comfy outfits that were normal for them to wear. Their outfit choices also fit well with the aesthetic of their home.
- Be ready to get cozy together and up in each other’s space. That’s part of my job to lead you into poses that feel natural and comfortable!
