New Mexico Ranch Engagement

This New Mexico Ranch Engagement was a family gathering turned into a surprise proposal. Leah was told that her parents were hosting a small family dinner since I was in town for the weekend (Leah’s my cousin). When Leah arrived at her parents’ house Brayden went out to walk with her to the barn where the food was grilling. The barn door was closed, so Brayden knocked on it. The barn door raised up and Leah was staring at her family and friends on the other side. She turned around and Brayden was on one knee. Evidently she said yes!

Brayden planned for his family, Leah’s family, and their friends to be there. Everyone arrived early and parked their cars on the other side of the barn. We didn’t want Leah to be suspicious when she arrived.

While Leah was getting ready earlier that day for dinner, her sister and two girlfriends were with her. Leah was picking out a t-shirt and athletic shorts to wear for the evening. Luckily, one of her girlfriends stepped in and helped put together the shorts and blazer combo she ended up wearing!

After they made their rounds of hugs with family and friends, I took Brayden and Leah beside the barn for golden hour photos. Not only did we get perfect sunset photos, it also gave Brayden and Leah some privacy to soak in the moment together.

P.S. this New Mexico Ranch engagement was featured on Instagram posts from Rocky Mountain Bride and Real Ranch Weddings.
