For this Taos New Mexico Wedding, family and friends drove deep into the mountains of North New Mexico to a family ranch. The views along the way were breathtaking and even included a drive over the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. Once in the forest, ribbons and balloons on trees along the way reassured guests they were on the right track.
Kayleigh & Wade met during high school initially on Facebook, but in person at the New Mexico State Fair. They were best friends for the first three years, but then decided to give a relationship a shot. Their first year together they did long distance while attending different colleges. After that first year Wade joined Kayleigh in Texas to complete their college years together.
Kayleigh says, “We are still each other’s absolute best friend and try to make everything we do into a date. Wade is definitely the more quiet one and laid back in our relationship ,while I am full blown sassy and outgoing. We have learned how to understand each other and appreciate our differences. It’s the perfect balance!”
Their wedding day was a nice, cool day from afternoon rain showers. Their family and friends sat on hay bales and watched K & W say their vows to one another and then everyone. They had an outdoor reception with tents and a wall of donuts! To end the night they did a sparkler exit and then took off in Wade’s 1966 Coronet. Skimming through their photos, I noticed that once Kayleigh and Wade were finally together that day they both had the biggest smiles for the rest of the night.
Despite all the recent things with COVID, I was so happy to be able to photograph K & W’s wedding. I know at the end of the day, they just wanted to be married. All the family and friends who were able to attend made the day feel complete!
