What started out as a Colorado wedding, became a summer Mississippi Wedding in Meridian. Venue restrictions during the pandemic forced a change of plans for McKenzie & Dustin and they decided to completely move their wedding to the bride’s home state of Mississippi. The bride grew up in Meridian and their close friends and family were able to travel to be there.
McKenzie and Dustin got married on August 1st, their 5th year anniversary of being together. In their five years of being together these two have endured many of life’s biggest challenges and they’ve come through on the other side even stronger. Their relationship consists of lots of inside jokes and quotes from The Office. They’re obsessed with their dogs, Star Trek, and Marvel comics.
In a questionnaire, I asked them what they were most looking forward to in marriage. Dustin said he was the most excited about spending the rest of his life with McKenzie. He knows they can go through tough times while still having fun and lifting each other up. McKenzie said she was most excited about officially starting their life together. She’s excited about buying a house with a big yard for the pups to run around in, having babies, and staying “young” forever together.
McKenzie planned her wedding in Mississippi from Texas where she was in school. One key part of their wedding coming together was working with a wedding planner. Terrica of Southern Productions was a dream to work with and helped with nailing down all the details! Their wedding ceremony took place in Trinity Presbyterian Church and their wedding reception was at Meridian Little Theatre.
On the wedding day, joy and love among the couple’s friends and family was easy to see. Once they were married and we did wedding party photos and their portraits, you can see how at ease they are together. Their big smiles in laughter in photos say it all! I’m so thankful I was able to travel to be part of this Summer Mississippi Wedding in Meridian.
