When planning engagement photos in Colorado Springs there are a variety of backdrops you can have for photos. This couple knew they wanted mountains involved, so we decided on a location central to Colorado Springs with gorgeous mountain views.
Adina and Matt moved to Colorado in 2018 from D.C. They were ready for a change of pace from big city living to more adventure and hiking in the mountains of Colorado.
Matt proposed on the top of a mountain during prime fall foliage season along popular hiking trail, Cragg’s Trail. They’re currently planning their wedding this year on the east coast!
When planning their engagement photo outfits, “wear what you would on a typical date night” was how Adina based their outfits and they did a great job!
In their pre-session questionnaire I asked what they appreciate about their relationship. They said, “We love that we can just be ourselves with each other and not have to put up any fronts. Also, we appreciate that we have the same quick wit and humor. We are both outdoorsy, and love hiking, mountain biking, and camping.”
Planning a mountain engagement session during the winter in Colorado can be risky! You never know if the weather will be sunny and warm or if it’ll be snowy and frigid. Adina & Matt ended up with a perfectly sunny day for their winter engagement session. The temperatures were chilly, but manageable. Like most couples Adina & Matt were a little nervous about having their photos taken. Once the session got started they were laughing and smiling with one another the entire time and made my job of taking the photos super easy and natural!
